I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and have always had a passion for sports. But it wasn’t until five years ago where I had the idea to create a sports talk show that got up close and personal with different athletes. I believe that the general media questions like “what did you think of the game” or “what do you guys need to do to be successful tonight” were becoming a little bit repetitive. That is why I wanted to create a show that would get to know your favorite athletes on a deeper more personal level, while also sprinkling some jokes and fun in. This gave and continues to give fans a new and unique lens to see their favorite players through.
Personally, I began my hockey career at the age of 4-years-old and have been playing hockey now for the past 19 years. I spent my Junior hockey days with the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL where we first began “The Bo Show”, before moving further away from home to play Division 1 College Hockey for the Liberty Flames. It was at this point when I started “The Bo Show Podcast” and then later came our first ever televised content, “Bo Knows”, a weekly segment on LFSN’s hit sports show, “GameOn”.
Before this all began I was inspired by guys like Jay Onrait, Dan O’Toole, and Cabbie Richards who have excelled at their craft by producing fun sports content in an entertaining way. I truly believe that like them, my love for and experience in sports has allowed me to relate to our show guests in a unique way.
